We offer a variety of treatment methods that do not require the use of needles. We employ these techniques when working with babies, children, and those anxious about needles.

MPS (Micro-Current Point Stimulation)

The MPS is a handheld device that detects and stimulates acupuncture points with minute amounts of electricity called micro-current. It is virtually painless, and is our treatment of choice for children for whatever is ailing them. They love the machine and are intrigued by its cool beeping sounds and flashing lights! MPS allows us to give an effective acupuncture treatment without needles. MPS can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with acupuncture. MPS treatment is especially effective to relieve pain and to treat scars.

While generally less stimulating than acupuncture, acupressure can be used to treat patients without needles. One benefit is that the patient can be taught how to do acupressure at home, reinforcing the treatment given in the office. Frequent repetition is necessary to achieve results.

Stim-Flex 400 Auricular Therapy

The Stim-Flex 400 is a sophisticated machine used to painlessly stimulate the acupuncture points in the ear for auricular therapy. The ear is a microsystem, meaning the whole body is mapped out in the ear. Therefore, almost any ailment can be treated using the ear. We especially like auricular therapy for pain, addiction, weight loss, and stress reduction.

Ear Seeds & Pellets

Ear seeds or pellets are often used to continue delivering treatment outside the office. Ear seeds are very small actual vaccaria seeds and pellets are tiny stainless steel, gold, or silver balls, all held in place on the ear by adhesive. Seeds or pellets are applied to the chosen AcuPoints in the ear, and left on for up to 5 days. The patient stimulates the AcuPoints by pressing or squeezing the seeds/pellets a few times daily. Ear seeds are often used in the treatment of pain, addiction and weight loss, and ADHD in children.
